Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about TokenBot.

Yes. The core trade synchronization service is completely free. You can connect exchanges, sync trades across accounts, and get alerts without paying anything.

We sustain the free service through optional premium features and exchange referral partnerships.

Yes — TokenBot is CLI-first. You install the tokenbot command-line tool and drive everything from your terminal; there is no web dashboard.

Terminal window
npm install -g tokenbot # requires Node.js 22+
tokenbot init

Access is currently early access — join the waitlist at site.tokenbot.com. See the Quick Start Guide.

Set up webhooks to send trade alerts to Discord, Telegram, or any platform.

Most users are fully set up in under 10 minutes:

  • Account creation: 2 minutes
  • Creating API keys on an exchange: 3-5 minutes
  • Connecting your first account: 1 minute

An API key is like a special password that lets software (like TokenBot) interact with your exchange account. You create them on your exchange and give them to TokenBot.

Yes, with one important condition: never enable withdrawal permissions.

TokenBot only needs trade permissions. Without withdrawal permissions, your funds cannot be moved—even if your key were stolen.

Can I use the same API key for other services?

Section titled “Can I use the same API key for other services?”

You can, but we don’t recommend it. Create a dedicated API key for TokenBot. This makes it easy to revoke access later without affecting other services.

What happens if I delete my API key on the exchange?

Section titled “What happens if I delete my API key on the exchange?”

TokenBot immediately loses access to that account. Trades won’t sync to or from that account anymore. This is the fastest way to disconnect if needed.

Typically under 1 second. TokenBot uses WebSocket connections to detect trades instantly, then executes copies within milliseconds.

What if my Copier account doesn’t have enough balance?

Section titled “What if my Copier account doesn’t have enough balance?”

TokenBot skips that account for that trade and sends you an alert. Other Copier accounts still execute normally.

Can I trade on multiple exchanges simultaneously?

Section titled “Can I trade on multiple exchanges simultaneously?”

Yes! That’s the main point of TokenBot. Your Strategy account can be on one exchange, and you can have Copier accounts on multiple different exchanges.

Yes. If your Strategy account order partially fills, TokenBot copies that partial fill to your Copiers.

Supported. If your exchange supports them and you set them on your Strategy account, TokenBot copies them to your Copier accounts.

TokenBot uses webhooks to send real-time trade notifications to any HTTPS endpoint. You can build custom bots for Discord, Telegram, Slack, or any platform. See Webhooks → for setup.

Yes. You can create multiple webhook endpoints, each subscribing to different events. Useful if you have different audiences for different strategies.

Check these common issues:

  1. Is your webhook endpoint returning 200 status codes?
  2. Is the webhook status “Enabled” (not “Failing”)?
  3. Is your Strategy account active and making trades?

By trading! Every trade you make through TokenBot earns reward points that convert to $TBOT tokens. More volume = more tokens.

Share your unique referral link. When someone signs up and trades, you earn 10% of the $TBOT tokens they generate—forever, no cap.

Anytime, once you hit the minimum claim amount. Run tokenbot rewards show for your current balance. Claiming is not yet exposed on the CLI — contact support to action a claim.

When you claim, tokens are sent to the Ethereum wallet address you provide. Make sure you control this wallet.

Common reasons:

  • Insufficient balance: Copier account didn’t have funds
  • API key issue: Key might need regenerating
  • Exchange maintenance: Exchange was temporarily unavailable
  • Trading pair not available: Copier exchange might not list that pair

Run tokenbot trades to see the status of recent trades, or tokenbot copier show <id> to inspect a copier.

Try these fixes:

  1. Regenerate the key on your exchange
  2. Make sure all required permissions are enabled
  3. Check if the key has IP restrictions that exclude TokenBot
  4. Verify you copied the entire key (no extra spaces)
  1. Check the webhook status in Settings → Webhooks
  2. Verify your endpoint is accessible and returning 200
  3. Check the delivery logs for error details
  4. Re-enable the webhook if it was auto-disabled due to failures
  1. Clear your browser cache
  2. Try a different browser
  3. Disable browser extensions temporarily
  4. Check if the issue is your internet connection

Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data, API keys, and trading history.

Yes — --json gives you machine-readable output you can transform however you like:

Terminal window
tokenbot trades --limit 500 --json > trades.json

For CSV, pipe it through jq:

Terminal window
tokenbot trades --limit 500 --json \
| jq -r '["executed","symbol","side","qty","price","pnl"], (.[] | [.executedAt,.symbol,.side,.quantity,.price,.profitLoss]) | @csv' \
> trades.csv

There is no password — the CLI encrypts your identity key under a passphrase you choose, and there is no recovery path. If it’s lost, register a new identity with tokenbot init and re-bind it to your account.

Not currently. 2FA and passkeys belonged to the retired web dashboard. Authentication is now a secp256k1 signature over every request, with your private key encrypted at rest and never transmitted — see Authentication.

Primarily through exchange referral partnerships. When you sign up for an exchange through our links, we receive a commission. We’re transparent about this—read more here.

TokenBot is a global service. Check our Terms of Service for legal entity details.

TokenBot is available worldwide, but some features depend on which exchanges serve your region. If an exchange doesn’t operate in your country, you won’t be able to connect that exchange.
