How TokenBot Works

TokenBot watches your trading account and copies your trades to other accounts automatically. Here's exactly how it happens.

Step by Step

Step 1: You Connect Your Exchanges

You create API keys on your exchanges (like Binance, Bybit, or OKX) and add them to TokenBot.

What are API keys? Think of them as special passwords that let software place trades for you. Each exchange has a page where you can create these keys.

Important: You control what API keys can do. For TokenBot, you only enable "trading" permissions. You do NOT enable "withdrawal" permissions. This means TokenBot can place trades but can never move your money out.

Step 2: You Pick Your Strategy Account

One of your exchange accounts becomes your "Strategy" account. This is your main trading account—the one you actively trade on.

TokenBot watches this account constantly. Every time you make a trade, TokenBot sees it within milliseconds.

Step 3: You Add Copier Accounts

Your other exchange accounts become "Copier" accounts. These follow your Strategy account.

When your Strategy account buys ETH, your Copier accounts buy ETH too. When your Strategy sells, they sell.

Step 4: You Trade Normally

That's it. Just trade on your Strategy account like you always have. TokenBot handles copying to your Copier accounts automatically.

You don't need to do anything different. Log into your favorite exchange and trade. TokenBot does the rest.

What Happens During a Trade

Let's walk through a real example:

  1. You open Binance and buy 0.1 BTC at $65,000

  2. TokenBot's monitor detects the trade instantly (we use WebSocket connections for speed)

  3. TokenBot calculates the equivalent trade for each Copier account (adjusting for different balances if you set that up)

  4. TokenBot sends buy orders to Bybit, OKX, and any other Copier accounts you connected

  5. In under a second, all your accounts own more BTC

  6. You get an alert on Discord or Telegram (if you enabled notifications)

Trade Matching Options

Same Size

Copy the exact trade size. If you buy 0.5 ETH on your Strategy account, all Copiers buy 0.5 ETH.

Proportional

Scale based on account size. If your Strategy account has $10,000 and your Copier has $5,000, the Copier trades half the size.

Fixed Percentage

Each trade uses a fixed percentage of the Copier's balance. You decide the percentage.

Speed Matters

TokenBot uses direct connections to exchanges (WebSockets) instead of checking periodically. This means:

  • Trade detection: Typically under 100ms

  • Trade execution: Typically under 500ms total

  • Total time: Your Copier accounts usually execute within 1 second of your Strategy trade

In fast-moving markets, seconds matter. We built for speed.

What If Something Goes Wrong?

Network issues

If TokenBot can't reach an exchange, it retries automatically. If the trade can't execute after retries, you get an alert.

Insufficient balance

If a Copier account doesn't have enough funds, TokenBot skips that account for that trade and alerts you.

Exchange maintenance

Exchanges sometimes go down for maintenance. TokenBot handles this gracefully—the affected account simply skips that trade.

Security Recap

Question
Answer

Can TokenBot withdraw my money?

No. API keys don't have withdrawal permission.

Where are my API keys stored?

Encrypted with 256-bit AES on secure AWS servers.

Can TokenBot staff see my keys?

No. They're encrypted and we don't have access to raw keys.

Can I revoke access?

Yes. Delete your API keys on the exchange and they stop working instantly.
